Make this quick and creamy pasta salad inspired by the classic BLT sandwich. It combines crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and pasta in a simple ranch dressing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz rotini or bowtie pasta
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing (bottled or homemade)
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta and rinse immediately with cold water to stop cooking. Set aside.
  2. While the pasta cooks, cook the bacon until crisp. Drain the bacon on paper towels and crumble it.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, ranch dressing, white wine vinegar, sugar, pepper, and salt until smooth. This is your dressing.
  4. Add the cooled, drained pasta, crumbled bacon, chopped romaine lettuce, halved tomatoes, and chopped celery to the bowl with the dressing.
  5. Gently toss all ingredients until the pasta and vegetables are evenly coated with the dressing.
  6. Cover the salad and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to blend.

Notes

  • For the best texture, add the chopped romaine lettuce just before serving if you plan to make this salad more than four hours ahead of time.
  • You can substitute the ranch dressing with blue cheese dressing for a different flavor profile.
  • If you prefer a tangier dressing, increase the white wine vinegar by one tablespoon.
