Follow these steps to make a standard, creamy, and spicy baked Buffalo Chicken Dip perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup Buffalo wing sauce
  • 1/2 cup blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese, divided
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded chicken, Buffalo wing sauce, and blue cheese or ranch dressing. Mix until all ingredients are fully incorporated and smooth.
  3. Stir in half (1/2 cup) of the shredded cheese into the chicken mixture.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining half (1/2 cup) of the shredded cheese over the top of the dip.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is heated through and the cheese on top is melted and lightly browned.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with green onions if desired.

Notes

  • For a tangier flavor, use blue cheese dressing instead of ranch.
  • You can use rotisserie chicken to save time on cooking and shredding.
  • If you prefer a slow cooker method, combine all ingredients except the top layer of cheese. Cook on low for 2 hours, then top with cheese and cook on high for 15 minutes until melted.
