Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (13.8 ounces each) refrigerated pizza crust dough
  • 1 package (10 ounces) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, minced garlic, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well combined and smooth.
  3. Stir in the thawed and squeezed-dry spinach until evenly distributed throughout the dip.
  4. Unroll one can of pizza crust dough onto a lightly floured surface. Cut it into thin strips, about 1/2 inch wide.
  5. Arrange the dough strips on the prepared baking sheet to form the shape of a Christmas tree. You can make a triangular shape for the tree and a small rectangle for the trunk.
  6. Spread the spinach dip mixture evenly over the dough strips, leaving a small border.
  7. Unroll the second can of pizza crust dough. Cut it into similar thin strips.
  8. Place these dough strips over the spinach dip to create a layered effect, or use them to create decorative patterns on top of the dip. You can also use them to form a second tree shape to cover the dip.
  9. Brush the entire breadstick tree with the beaten egg wash. Sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds if desired.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown and cooked through.
  11. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the frozen spinach is thoroughly squeezed dry to prevent a watery dip.
  • You can adjust the amount of garlic and red pepper flakes to your preference.
  • Get creative with the dough strips to make your tree unique!
