Ingredients
Scale
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 large eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped almonds
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional, for topping)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Remove from heat.
Whisk the sugar and cocoa powder into the melted butter until smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Gently stir in the flour and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in the shredded coconut and chopped almonds.
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips, if using.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. A toothpick inserted near the edge should come out with moist crumbs, not wet batter.
Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment overhang.
Cut into squares and enjoy your amazing treat!
Notes
For fudgier brownies, slightly underbake them.
You can toast the almonds lightly before adding them for deeper flavor.
Anya suggests using high-quality cocoa powder for the best chocolate taste.
Use room temperature eggs for better batter incorporation.
