Enjoy a comforting bowl of creamy tuna pasta, a simple yet satisfying meal perfect for any occasion. This recipe brings together tender pasta and flavorful tuna in a luscious sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (5 ounces each) tuna, drained
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  4. Stir in drained tuna, breaking it up with a spoon.
  5. Pour in milk and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and salt.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Feel free to add your favorite vegetables like peas or broccoli to the sauce.
  • For a richer flavor, you can use half-and-half instead of milk.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or extra Parmesan cheese.
