Make incredibly tender and juicy steak bites with minimal effort using your slow cooker. This set it and forget it recipe is perfect for a weeknight family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup butter, cut into pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed sirloin steak into the basin of your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the steak evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Toss gently to coat the pieces.
  3. Pour the beef broth over the seasoned steak.
  4. Place the pieces of butter evenly over the top of the steak cubes.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours, or on HIGH for 2 hours, until the steak is fork-tender.
  6. About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the minced garlic. This keeps the garlic flavor fresh.
  7. Stir everything together gently to create a light sauce with the melted butter and broth.
  8. Serve the crockpot steak bites immediately over mashed potatoes or rice, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can sear the steak cubes in a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes per side before adding them to the slow cooker.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir it into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  • This recipe works well with other cuts like chuck roast, but cooking time may need slight adjustment for maximum tenderness.
