Make juicy, flavorful BBQ chicken breasts using this simple oven baking method. This recipe is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner and uses minimal ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup your favorite BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and smoked paprika together. This is your glaze.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Brush half of the BBQ glaze mixture evenly over the tops of the chicken breasts.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes.
  6. Remove the dish from the oven and brush the remaining glaze over the chicken.
  7. Return the chicken to the oven and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  8. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing or serving.

Notes

  • For extra sticky chicken, place the chicken under the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • You can substitute chicken thighs for breasts; adjust the cooking time as needed for thicker cuts.
  • This chicken is excellent shredded and used for BBQ chicken sandwiches.
