Make perfect, soft peanut butter cookies fast with this simple recipe using basic pantry ingredients. These classic crosshatch cookies are great for beginners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the peanut butter, sugar, and egg. Mix well until a uniform dough forms.
  3. Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving 2 inches between each ball.
  4. Use a fork to press down on each cookie ball, creating a crosshatch pattern. Press once vertically, then once horizontally.
  5. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly set. Do not overbake if you want soft and easy cookies.
  6. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a fudgy peanut butter cookies easy result, slightly underbake them by one minute.
  • If your dough seems too dry, add a teaspoon of milk. If it is too sticky, add a tablespoon of extra sugar.
  • This recipe makes no chill peanut butter cookies, ready to bake immediately.
