Ingredients
Scale
2 shots espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
2 tablespoons gingerbread syrup (store-bought or homemade)
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of ground cloves
Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
Extra cinnamon or gingerbread spice blend (for garnish)
Instructions
Brew your espresso or strong coffee. Set it aside.
Combine the milk, gingerbread syrup, ground ginger, cinnamon, and cloves in a small saucepan.
Heat the milk mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until it is hot and steamy. Do not boil.
If you have a milk frother, froth the milk mixture until light and airy. If not, whisk vigorously until foamy.
Pour the hot, spiced milk mixture into your favorite mug.
Add the brewed espresso or coffee to the mug. Stir gently to combine.
Top with whipped cream, if desired.
Sprinkle a little extra cinnamon or spice blend over the top before you enjoy.
Notes
For a vegan version, use oat or almond milk.
Adjust the spice amounts to match your preference; Sasha likes it spicier!
If you don’t have gingerbread syrup, use 2 tablespoons of maple syrup and increase the ginger slightly.
