Enjoy a delicious grilled tuna steak marinated in a savory soy-ginger sauce. This recipe is perfect for a quick and flavorful meal with Asian-inspired tastes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tuna steaks (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Green onions, sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, honey, and red pepper flakes if using.
  2. Place the tuna steaks in the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the tuna from the marinade, letting any excess drip off. Discard the remaining marinade.
  5. Grill the tuna steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer depending on your desired doneness.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add more red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • Ensure your grill grates are clean and oiled to prevent sticking.
