Ingredients
Scale
12 oz milk chocolate, chopped or chips
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup granulated sugar
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup mini marshmallows (for filling)
Optional: Sprinkles or decorative chocolate for topping
Instructions
Melt half of the chocolate gently over a double boiler or in the microwave in short bursts, stirring until smooth.
Using a silicone mold (half-sphere shape), brush a thin, even layer of melted chocolate inside each cavity.
Place the molds in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes until the chocolate is set.
Warm the remaining chocolate slightly so it is fluid but not hot.
Apply a second, slightly thicker layer of chocolate over the set first layer in the molds. Chill again until completely firm.
Carefully remove the hardened chocolate half-spheres from the molds.
Warm a small plate slightly. Take one chocolate half-shell and gently press the rim onto the warm plate for a few seconds to slightly melt the edge.
Place a spoonful of cocoa powder mixture (cocoa, sugar, salt), a few marshmallows, and any other desired filling into the warmed half-shell.
Take a second chocolate half-shell and immediately place the melted rim onto the filled shell, creating a sealed sphere. Work quickly to join them.
If desired, use extra melted chocolate to drizzle or decorate the outside of the bombs. Allow them to set fully before using.
To use, place one bomb in a mug and pour about 1 cup of hot milk over it. Stir until the chocolate melts and the marshmallows emerge!
Notes
Use good quality chocolate for the best flavor.
Ensure your chocolate sphere edges are clean before sealing for a perfect closure.
This recipe works well with dark, milk, or white chocolate.
