Make this tropical and refreshing Iced Pineapple Matcha Spritz. It combines earthy matcha with sweet pineapple and sparkling water for a light, fizzy drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 teaspoon ceremonial grade matcha powder
  • 2 tablespoons hot (not boiling) water
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
  • 1 teaspoon simple syrup or agave (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup chilled club soda or sparkling water
  • Ice cubes
  • Garnish: Pineapple wedge or mint sprig

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk the matcha powder with the hot water until completely smooth and frothy, ensuring no clumps remain. This is your matcha base.
  2. In a tall glass, combine the pineapple juice and simple syrup. Stir briefly.
  3. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  4. Pour the prepared matcha mixture slowly over the ice.
  5. Top the glass with the chilled club soda or sparkling water.
  6. Gently stir the drink once or twice from the bottom to combine the layers slightly without losing the fizz.
  7. Garnish with a pineapple wedge or mint sprig before serving immediately.

Notes

  • For a stronger pineapple flavor, use pineapple sparkling water instead of plain club soda.
  • If you prefer a sweeter drink, increase the simple syrup to 1.5 teaspoons.
  • Use cold water to whisk the matcha if you are in a hurry, but whisk longer to avoid clumps.
