Make a cold, refreshing protein shake with vanilla and strawberry flavors. This recipe is quick and provides a good source of protein.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (whey or plant-based)
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
  • Sweetener to taste (e.g., 1/2 banana or 1 teaspoon stevia)

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen strawberries, vanilla protein powder, almond milk, ice cubes, vanilla extract, chia seeds (if using), and sweetener into a high-speed blender.
  2. Secure the lid on the blender.
  3. Start blending on a low speed, gradually increasing to high speed.
  4. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and thick. Stop and scrape down the sides if necessary.
  5. If the shake is too thick, add a splash more almond milk. If it is too thin, add a few more ice cubes or frozen strawberries and blend again.
  6. Pour the shake into a tall glass.
  7. Serve immediately while cold.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free option, use plant-based protein powder and almond milk.
  • Add 1/2 cup of spinach for extra nutrients without significantly changing the flavor.
  • To make this a lower-carb version, omit the banana and use a zero-calorie sweetener.
  • Use cold or chilled milk for the best icy texture.
