Create a stunning Maple-Glazed Holiday Ham, the perfect centerpiece for your festive celebration. This recipe brings together sweet maple and savory ham for a truly memorable dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8-10 pound) fully cooked ham, spiral-cut
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Place the ham cut-side down in a roasting pan.
  2. In a small saucepan, whisk together the maple syrup, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cloves, and cinnamon. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the glaze is smooth. Do not boil.
  3. Brush about one-third of the glaze over the entire surface of the ham.
  4. Bake the ham for 15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C). Baste with the remaining glaze every 30 minutes during baking.
  5. If you desire a darker crust, increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) for the last 10 minutes of cooking.
  6. Remove the ham from the oven. Let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • If using a fresh, uncooked ham, adjust baking time significantly and ensure the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  • Save any leftover glaze to serve on the side as an extra sauce.
  • Pineapple rings or maraschino cherries can be pinned to the ham before baking for a traditional look.
