- 6 cups fresh peaches, sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced peaches with granulated sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour the mixture into an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine 1/2 cup flour, brown sugar, oats, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the peach mixture.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
- If peaches are not in season, you can use frozen peaches. Thaw them first and drain any excess liquid.
- For a nuttier flavor, add 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts to the topping mixture.
