Make moist, flaky salmon and asparagus quickly on one sheet pan using a simple lemon garlic butter sauce. This recipe is ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Lemon slices, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. This is your garlic butter sauce.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on one side of the prepared baking sheet. Arrange the trimmed asparagus on the other side.
  4. Spoon half of the garlic butter sauce evenly over the salmon fillets.
  5. Drizzle the remaining sauce over the asparagus spears.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the asparagus is tender-crisp. Cooking time depends on the thickness of your salmon.
  7. Garnish the salmon with fresh lemon slices before serving immediately.

Notes

  • For extra moisture, you can loosely tent the salmon with foil for the first 8 minutes of baking, then remove the foil for the last few minutes to allow the top to set.
  • If you prefer a stronger garlic flavor, add one extra minced clove to the butter mixture.
  • You can substitute asparagus with broccoli florets or green beans; adjust cooking time slightly if using thicker vegetables.
