Ingredients
Scale
4 cups dried bread cubes
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup chopped yellow onion
1 cup chopped celery
1 teaspoon dried sage
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 large egg, beaten
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 12-cup muffin tin.
In a large bowl, combine the dried bread cubes with the chopped onion, celery, sage, thyme, pepper, and salt.
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Pour the melted butter over the bread cube mixture and toss to coat evenly.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the chicken broth and the beaten egg.
Pour the broth and egg mixture over the bread cube mixture and gently toss until everything is moistened.
Spoon the stuffing mixture into the prepared muffin cups, pressing down lightly.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the stuffing is heated through.
Let the stuffing muffins cool in the tin for a few minutes before carefully removing them.
Notes
You can add other herbs like rosemary or parsley to the stuffing mixture.
For a richer flavor, use homemade bread cubes.
These muffins can be made ahead of time and reheated.
