Create a fun, flavorful Taco Spaghetti using just one pot! This recipe blends the comforting nature of spaghetti with the zesty tastes of taco night. It is a simple, satisfying meal perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 4 cups water or beef broth
  • 8 ounces spaghetti, broken in half
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (for topping)
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, sliced green onions, salsa

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Stir in the taco seasoning mix, tomato sauce, and water or broth. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Add the broken spaghetti to the boiling liquid. Stir well to prevent sticking.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the pot, and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the spaghetti is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed. Stir occasionally during cooking.
  5. Remove the pot from the heat. Let it stand, covered, for about 5 minutes.
  6. Stir gently. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and let it melt slightly before serving.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite taco toppings.

Notes

  • You control the spice level by choosing your preferred taco seasoning packet.
  • If the mixture seems too thick before the pasta is done, add a splash more water or broth.
  • This recipe tastes great the next day, too!
