Make this quick and refreshing watermelon smoothie using only five simple ingredients. It is a hydrating drink perfect for hot weather or a light breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups cubed, frozen watermelon
  • 1 medium frozen banana, sliced
  • 1/2 cup water or coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen watermelon, frozen banana, water or coconut water, lime juice, and chia seeds into a high-speed blender.
  2. Secure the lid and blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high speed.
  3. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides if necessary.
  4. If the smoothie is too thick, add water or coconut water one tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
  5. Pour immediately into glasses and serve.

Notes

  • For a colder smoothie, freeze the watermelon cubes for at least 6 hours.
  • Substitute Greek yogurt for the banana if you prefer a tangier flavor and higher protein content.
  • Use coconut water for added electrolytes and a slight tropical taste.
